Host a Class
Come along to our fortnightly photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.
Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers. We have a different photo theme each fortnight and the two hour sessions take place in different outdoor locations across Birmingham. Great opportunity to try something new with the guidance of a professional photographer, and come away with some new shots for your portfolio or album.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

What’s involved? Each session starts with an introduction to the fortnight’s theme, and the photography instructor will chat about the camera settings and techniques to use. You’ll then have time to take lots of photos, with the instructor present to answer any questions. You’ll receive feedback and have a chance to chat with everyone to share tips and ideas. We’re a social bunch!

This was my first time of attending one of the group sessions and I thoroughly enjoyed my time. I have been self taught through reading and watching videos, but to have the benefit of asking a very knowledgeable instructor I feel I have learned more. I'll definitely be attending further sessions.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first bpg session. Martin put everyone at ease and ensured that he took time with everyone, offering guidance and answering questions throughout. I will definitely be back.

i thought it was very well organised... The guide, Martin obviously knows his photography very well and i certainly felt comfortable asking questions and also liked his approach to teaching.. i.e in a very relaxed, informal style.. I've really felt like i've learnt something today and the course has also made me realise how much I DO know already... the confidence thing often stops me in my tracks. Metering in particular, feels much more natural to me, after today. Thank you so much again.

Lovely oasis of calm, hidden from city life. Good to meet and chat to fellow photographers. Good location for all sorts of photography from macro to landscape. Came home thoroughly chilled, but having shot hundreds of photos.

This was my first time with BPG. Very enjoyable. Not being a native Brummy I found places I would never have found on my own. Nice to meet up with like minded people too. It was also noticable that we over ran past the scheduled finish time and Martin didn't seem to mind. A mate!
